Completed SUNFIELD Project

We are excited to see the completion of our newest building project - SUNFIELD, a 62-unit, Affordable Housing Residence that was completed summer of 2023. Our residents include seniors 55+ and people with disabilities. All of our residents from our Seafield Manor were moved to their new suites in Sunfield beginning July 2023 and completed in August 2023. Our old building, Seafield, was demolished by the end of September, making room for our future Phase 2 project. The naturally landscaped side yard with a Gazebo and outdoor sitting areas was completed before the end of 2023.

Since then we have acquired new residents and will continue to do so until we are full.  Applications are being accepted for both our current SUNRISE building and our new SUNFIELD building as vacancies arise.  If we are full, check back at another time or see the link below for some other BC Housing facilities in Nanaimo.

Report from our Building Project Chair

The Vancouver Island Free Daily printed an article about our Sunfield project when the City of Nanaimo issued the development permit for two new buildings, comprising 124 future independent living apartments for seniors at 1145 Seafield Crescent in Nanaimo’s hospital area. An artist’s sketch is provided as part of this article.
